Who wouldn’t support an anti-trafficking act?

To the Editor:

I read the commentary by John Albers questioning the positions of Eric (sic) Paulsen.  I have always believed that actions speak louder than words.  Paulsen campaigned as a moderate in this district.  Regardless of your political party, no thinking person can call this administration’s positions as moderate.  Yet Paulsen has voted with the administration on practically every legislative effort of the administration.  I am hard pressed to find a single bill or executive action that Paulsen has not supported.

Paulsen voted against:

  • ACA repeal every time brought up, including the most recent nationally revile repeal bill [NOTE:  Paulsen voted TO repeal the ACA]
  • Planned Parenthood, which arguably is an important source of healthcare, well-being for women in this country
  • Voted for the repeal of the Clean Water Act
  • Climate Change
  • Supports current version of tax reform (aka tax cut for wealthy)
  • I believe his House voting record is somewhere around 97 percent with the administration.

The fact that he voted for the Trafficking Victims Protection Act, is hardly street credential as a moderate.  Who could possible not support that?

Based on his voting record and comparing that to his campaign position as a moderate, I would have to vote for smoke and mirrors; there is no moderate there, just an administration supporter posing as a moderate to get reelected.
