75,000 and Counting Demand NBC Release Damaging Trump Tapes from ‘The Apprentice’
The following article by Liz Posner was posted on the AlterNet website November 30, 2017:
NBC has not been having a great week. From allegations of sexual assault against Matt Lauer to news that Jimmy Fallon’s ratings have dropped as viewers turn to more politically charged hosts Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert, the network will not close out 2017 on a high note. Now, women’s groups are reviving a demand that NBC release tapes from “The Apprentice” in which Donald Trump allegedly hurls racist and sexist insults at the show’s contestants.
Nearly 75,000 people have signed the petition calling for the release of the tapes. A release would be well timed after one of Trump’s most baffling lies to date: that the Access Hollywood tape of him boasting of grabbing women “by the pussy” was fabricated, even though he apologized for his words just last year. Far-right trolls and white nationalists defend Trump’s anti-Muslim video retweets
The following article by Nina Mast was posted on the Media Matters website November 29, 2017:
On Wednesday morning, President Donald Trump retweeted three anti-Muslim videos posted by Jayda Fransen, the deputy leader of the far-right, ultranationalist Britain First political organization, who has previously been “found guilty of religiously aggravated harassment.” Trump’s retweets of three videosattempting to link Muslims to violent crime, one of which has been debunked and the other two of which lacked context, were praised by white nationalists and far-right ideologues on Twitter and by internet trolls on 4chan, 8chan, and Reddit message boards. At least one prominent fake news website also defended Trump’s retweets.

Trump veers past guardrails, feeling impervious to the uproar he causes
The following article by Philip Rucker and Ashley Parker was posted on the Washington Post website November 29, 2017:
President Trump on Nov. 29 delivered a speech in St. Charles, Mo., about the GOP tax plan. He also spoke about Kim Jong Un, Hillary Clinton and Christmas. (Bastien Inzaurralde/The Washington Post)
President Trump this week disseminated on social media three inflammatory and unverified anti-Muslim videos, took glee in the firing of a news anchor for sexual harassment allegations despite facing more than a dozen of his own accusers and used a ceremony honoring Navajo war heroes to malign a senator with a derogatory nickname, “Pocahontas.”
Again and again, Trump veered far past the guardrails of presidential behavior. But despite the now-routine condemnations, the president is acting emboldened, as if he were impervious to the uproar he causes. Continue reading “Trump veers past guardrails, feeling impervious to the uproar he causes”
Sarah Huckabee Sanders just tacitly endorsed using anti-Muslim propaganda
The following article by Aaron Blake was posted on the Washington Post website November 29, 2017:
President Trump’s controversial campaign against the threat he says Muslim extremists pose to the United States hit a new pitch Wednesday, when he retweeted a series of unverified videos of alleged Muslim violence from the account of a far-right anti-Muslim activist in Great Britain.
That was objectionable enough. But the White House’s response carves an even deeper bunker.
In response to questions about the veracity of the videos Trump retweeted, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders offered this to CBS News’s Major Garrett: “Whether it’s a real video, the threat is real. His goal is to promote strong border security and strong national security.” Continue reading “Sarah Huckabee Sanders just tacitly endorsed using anti-Muslim propaganda”

Trump’s racist rants follow a pattern. Even his supporters are tired of it.
The following article by Sam Fulwood III was posted on the ThinkProgress website November 20, 2017:
Over the weekend, President Donald Trump tapped out a series of angry Twitter posts attacking black athletes and celebrities. If that sounds familiar, that’s because it is. The president has gone after LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Jemele Hill, and countless others — all in the past few months.
Notice something? There’s no mistaking the fact that the subject of Trump’s ire are all prominent African Americans. It’s no coincidence that Trump makes a sport of attacking black celebrities, especially those who have been outspoken against his policies or behavior in office.
