Those who apparently do not know history are doomed to make basic mistakes.

It seems so simple. The official name of the Adolf Hitler’s political party — the Nazis — had the word “socialist” in it. Ergo, it must have been a socialist party. And that means that Democrats, some of whom call themselves socialists, must be Nazis. Or something like that.

GOP leaders face new calls to boot Greene

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) is facing calls to boot Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) out of the GOP conference for her remarks comparing COVID-19 mask and vaccine rules to the genocide of 6 million Jews during World War II.

“Just stop. This is demented and dangerous. There is no comparison,” Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) tweeted at Greene Tuesday after she doubled down on her Holocaust comparison.

“I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: while we cannot stop her from calling herself a Republican, we can and should refuse to let her caucus with the @HouseGOP.” Continue reading.

Video resurfaces showing Marjorie Taylor Greene saying she wouldn’t want a statue of Hitler taken down

As Georgia GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene continues to take heat for her comments comparing mask mandates to Nazi policies against the Jews during the Holocaust, a video from last year showing Greene arguing against the removal of Confederate monuments, saying that given the choice, she’d advocate to allow a statue of Hitler or Satan.

The video, which was first resurfaced by Punchbowl News reporter Jake Sherman, shows then-candidate Greene speaking before a Dalton, Georgia, city council meeting on June 15. 

“We’re seeing situations where Christopher Columbus, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, all kinds of statues are being attacked, and it seems to be just an effort to take down history,” Greene says in the video. “And whether I see a statue that may be something that I would full disagree with, like Adolph Hitler — maybe a statue of Satan himself — I would not want to say take it down, but again, it’s so that I could tell my children and teach others about who these people are and what they did.” Continue reading.

Christian Broadcasting Network commentator David Brody, appearing on the far right streaming website Real America’s Voice Monday tried to defend Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene‘s remarks made on his show Thursday by falsely claiming the embattled Georgia Republican Congresswoman was referring to “pre-Holocaust” Germany when she talked about Jews being “taken into gas chambers.”

Rep. Greene was comparing Speaker Pelosi’s policies on masks with Hitler’s genocide of millions of Jews and other minorities.

Her remarks sparked massive outrage, intensifying calls for House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy to remove her from Congress. McCarthy hasn’t bothered to even acknowledge Greene’s antisemitic remarks. Continue reading.

For a truly bizarre two-minute viewing experience, you might click on the latest artifact of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s fixation on Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. In a since-deleted video, which CNN preserved and resurfaced Friday, the Georgia Republican crouches outside the office of the New York Democrat and delivers a monologue into her mail slot.

The video, which was apparently recorded in 2019, shows Greene accusing Ocasio-Cortez of wearing a “diaper” and saying she should come out of the office like a “big girl,” but the weirdest part — and trust me, this is saying something — is when Greene announces to the mail slot, “I’m a woman! I’m a female business owner! I’m proud to be an American woman!”

Rep. Greene aggressively confronts Rep. Ocasio-Cortez, causing New York congresswoman to raise security concerns

Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene aggressively confronted Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Wednesday and falsely accused her of supporting “terrorists,” leading the New York congresswoman’s office to call on leadership to ensure that Congress remains “a safe, civil place for all Members and staff.”

Two Washington Post reporters witnessed Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.) exit the House chamber late Wednesday afternoon ahead of Greene (Ga.), who shouted “Hey Alexandria” twice in an effort to get her attention. When Ocasio-Cortez did not stop walking, Greene picked up her pace and began shouting at her and asking why she supports antifa, a loosely knit group of far-left activists, and Black Lives Matter, falsely labeling them “terrorist” groups. Greene also shouted that Ocasio-Cortez was failing to defend her “radical socialist” beliefs by declining to publicly debate the freshman from Georgia.

Marjorie Greene wants to debate AOC over the Green New Deal — but admits she’s yet to read ‘all 14 pages’ of the bill

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) claims she is interested in debating Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez over the details of the Green New Deal. According to Business Insider, Greene on Wednesday, April 21, tweeted about the possibility of her and the Democratic lawmaker scheduling a debate in the near future. 

Greene’s tweet came shortly after the two lawmakers talked on the House floor about Ocasio-Cortez’s environmental proposal. However, Greene insisted she would only be willing to debate after reading “all 14 pages.”

“I’m glad I ran into you today [Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez ] to plan our debate about the Green New Deal,” Greene tweeted. “After I finish reading all 14 pages, like we agreed, I’ll schedule time for our debate.” Continue reading.

Rep. Greene tries to distance herself from ‘America First Caucus’ document denounced as racist

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Saturday tried to distance herself from a document published by Punchbowl News that purportedly outlined the goals of a new “America First Caucus” being formed by Greene and other hard-right GOP lawmakers. The document had received blowback from Democrats and some Republicans for promoting nativist policies and perpetuating the falsehood that there was widespread fraud and corruption in the 2020 election.

On Saturday, Greene (R-Ga.) described the document as “a staff level draft proposal from an outside group” and claimed she had not read it. She blasted the media for “taking something out of context,” but did not specify to which policies in the document she objected.

However, Greene did not deny plans to start an “America First Caucus” and ended a lengthy Twitter thread by saying she supported former president Donald Trump’s “America First agenda.” Continue reading.

‘White Supremacy Caucus’: GOP lawmaker torches ‘America First Caucus’ as he offers his take on lawmakers joining it

Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) did not mince words when he shared his opinion of the right-wing America First Caucus. The Republican lawmaker also criticized his colleagues interested in joining the caucus as he stressed that there should be consequences for such actions. 

On Friday, April 16, Kinzinger took to Twitter with a series of tweets about the formation of the new caucus. According to Mediaite, the caucus was founded by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.), both of whom recently attended a white nationalist conference and served as keynote speakers. The publication reports that the two lawmakers have been working to recruit a number of other Republican lawmakers including Rep. Barry Moore (R-Ala.) and Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas).

Although the America First Caucus claims it places an emphasis on “common respect for uniquely Anglo-Saxon political traditions,” Kinzinger argues otherwise. The Illinois lawmaker insists the caucus is nothing more than a white supremacy caucus. Continue reading.
