Law enforcement slashed parked car tires in Minneapolis amid protests

The Hill logoLaw enforcement officers in Minneapolis slashed the tires of parked cars during recent protests over the death of George Floyd, a spokesman for the Minnesota Department of Public Safety confirmed to The Hill on Monday.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Bruce Gordon acknowledged that state troopers cut tires during protests, as seen in videos and photos shared online.

“While we can’t speak for other law enforcement agencies and their tactics, there were instances when State Patrol troopers strategically deflated tires to keep vehicles from being used in attacks, and so we could tow the vehicles later for collection of evidence if necessary,” Gordon said in a statement.  Continue reading.
