GOP’s Marjorie Taylor Greene fumes after admitting defeat in costly legal battle

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) griped after she was prohibited from blocking other Twitter accounts as part of a lawsuit filed by a Los Angeles-based political action committee.

The Georgia Republican agreed to pay $10,000 in legal fees to MeidasTouch LLC, which will donate the money to two nonprofit groups, after Greene blocked the PAC’s account for posting criticism of her and former president Donald Trump — and the lawmaker fumed afterward.

“Because of this PAC’s frivolous lawsuit against me, I’m not allowed to block people that threaten my life and my children’s lives every single day on social media,” Greene tweeted. “And they are bragging about donating the money to organizations that want to take away my guns, so I couldn’t defend myself and my children, when people show up to murder us like they threaten.” Continue reading.

‘Close ally’ of Marjorie Taylor Greene caught on video inside the US Capitol on Jan 6

CNN reported last month that “a close ally” of Georgia GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene partook in the storming of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. Now, CNN reports that there’s footage showing Anthony Aguero inside the building on that day.

Aguero refused to say whether or not he was inside the building and claimed he went to the Capitol as an “independent journalist” to document the event, but videos reviewed by CNN’s KFile are the first visual confirmation that Aguero breached the building. He can be heard chanting “heave ho” as rioters were attempting to break in on the West Side of the Capitol.

Another video filmed immediately following the riot, Aguero said “a message was sent” by the rioters, later describing them as “patriots.” Continue reading.

‘I didn’t know they were Jewish!’ Marjorie Taylor Greene claims ignorance for sharing anti-Semitic theory

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) claimed ignorance as her defense for spreading an anti-Semitic conspiracy theory.

The Georgia Republican suggested in a November 2018 post on Facebook that the wildfire that ravaged California was started with a laser beam as part of an effort to clear land for building a high-speed rail project involving corporate and banking interests, such as the Rothschild family — but Greene insisted she wasn’t aware of the anti-Semitic implications of her claims, reported Forward.

“I didn’t even know and didn’t find out until recently that the Rothschilds were Jewish,” Greene told the print-only Ami Magazine. Continue reading.

Rep. Greene Thinks U.S. Territory Guam Gets Too Much ‘Foreign Aid’

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) included the U.S. territory of Guam when listing foreign nations that she says are receiving American tax dollars.

Greene made the comments on February 27, the second day of the annual Conservative Political Action Conference, in Orlando, Florida, in one of the event’s side sessions.

Georgia GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s efforts to delay congressional business by forcing futile procedural votes to adjourn the House each day are disrupting committee hearings and virtual constituent meetings — and ticking off a growing chorus of Republican colleagues.

Rep. Ann Wagner (R-Mo.) had to rush out of a committee hearing with Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell on monetary policy. Rep. David Joyce (R-Ohio) had to step out of a video conference with an international conservation group. And Rep. Tim Walberg (R-Mich.) had to halt a Zoom meeting with local chambers of commerce from the Great Lakes region.

“Aggravated,” Wagner replied when asked by The Hill how she felt about having to vote on one of Greene’s motions to adjourn one recent morning. Continue reading.

‘Nobody Listened To Me’: The Quest to Be MTG

All Marjorie Taylor Greene ever wanted was someone to pay attention to her.

ALPHARETTA, GEORGIA.—Marjorie Taylor Greene smacked her gum as she pretended to listen to a man in a dress read a book about a unicorn.

It was late April of 2019. She sat in the rear of a room at the public library here near her home in this suburb north of Atlanta. Greene at the time identified as a mother, a business owner, a fitness trainer, a “supporter of the 2nd amendment,” “a patriot” and a “conservative blogger on social media,” and she had come to mount what she described as an “undercover” protest of something called “Drag Queen Story Hour”—an event she saw as “insane” put on by a person she considered “an abomination.” Using her iPhone to surreptitiously record, Greene flipped back and forth between a shot of the stage and a close-up of her own face, creating a kind of herky-jerky show on Facebook Live.

“Be nice to people around you!” the wig-wearing reader, stage name Miss Terra Cotta Sugarbaker, said in closing to the small gathering of children and their parents. Greene, sporting a pink cast on her left foot, hobbled outside. “Were you able to hear all that?” Greene asked the 400 or so viewers following along. Continue reading.

Marjorie Taylor Greene blasted for attacking colleague’s transgender daughter: ‘Sickening, pathetic, unimaginably cruel’

After a contentious debate on the Equality Act, which would extend civil rights protections to the LGBTQ community, Rep. Marie Newman (D-Ill.) on Wednesdayraised a transgender pride flag outside her office — which happens to sit directly across from the office of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), one of the bill’s most vocal opponents.

“Our neighbor, [Greene], tried to block the Equality Act because she believes prohibiting discrimination against trans Americans is ‘disgusting, immoral, and evil,’” Newman, who has a transgender daughter, wrote on Twitter with a video of her hanging the flag. “Thought we’d put up our Transgender flag so she can look at it every time she opens her door.”

Greene, who lost her committee memberships by promoting false and extremist claims, quickly responded with her own video mocking Newman’s earlier tweet as she hung up a poster that said: “There are TWO genders: Male & Female. Trust The Science!” Continue reading.

Viral video shows Marjorie Taylor Greene on January 5 saying ‘get ready to fight for America tomorrow’

Less than 24 hours before thousands of Trump supporters would storm the U.S. Capitol in an armed and deadly insurrection Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) stood with that same building in the background and told MAGA adherents to “get ready to fight for America tomorrow.”

Greene, a racist and QAnon conspiracy theorist who has not stopped making incendiary remarks even after being stripped of her committee assignments last week, also told supporters, “Trump was re-elected for four more years,” which is a lie, part of the Big Lie Trump and his cult have been spreading since the November election.

The Congresswoman, who last week told her colleagues in the House that she was “allowed to believe” the QAnon cult claims to were real, also falsely claims the Electoral College vote was “stolen.” Continue reading.

Marjorie Taylor Greene and the death of the public political apology

When Georgia representative and sometime QAnon enthusiastMarjorie Taylor Greene met with fellow House Republicans on Feb. 3, she may have apologized. Or she may not have.

During the closed-door meeting in which Greene’s conspiracy theory beliefs came up, we don’t know exactly what went down because, well, it was behind closed doors. 

Speaking after the event, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy described Greene’s remarks as an apology, saying that Greene had denounced her previous statements and social media postings – which included the idea that mass school shootings are “false flag” operations and that California forest fires were started by Jewish space lasers – and that “she said she was wrong.”  Continue reading.

WSJ slams ‘nutty’ Marjorie Taylor Greene affair: Endorsing Nancy Pelosi’s assassination is ‘cuckoo rhetoric’

The Wall Street Journal Editorial Board says U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene‘s endorsement of assassinating the Speaker of the House, a former U.S. President, and two former U.S. Secretaries of State is merely “nutty,” and “cuckoo rhetoric.”

“On Thursday, under pressure from all sides, Ms. Greene disavowed her past cuckoo rhetoric,” the WSJ editorial says.

“Everyone agrees Ms. Greene’s past social-media posts were nutty. But it’s a troubling precedent for the House majority party to overrule the committee assignments of the minority, based on a politician’s words before taking office,” the editorial reads.

Really? Not everyone. Most believe they are far worse than “nutty” or “cuckoo.” Continue reading.
