‘Maybe you have that information to provide?’: Jen Psaki expertly dismantles reporter’s pro-Trump anti-vaxx claim

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on Monday politely explained to a reporter insisting anti-vaxx Trump voters are refusing to get inoculated because the former president allegedly did not get enough “credit” for the vaccine.

The reporter wanted to know if the White House would “consider highlighting or acknowledging, in a greater way,” Trump’s “role in creating the vaccines,” as a means “to assure the rural voters who still support President Trump and are hesitant to get the vaccine.”

Psaki was not buying the reporter’s claims, which did not appear to be based on any facts. Continue reading.

‘Built on a lie’: Jen Psaki annihilates Peter Doocy’s misleading question on Georgia voting

Raw Story Logo

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on Tuesday pushed back against the assertion that Georgia’s new voting laws are less restrictive than Colorado’s laws.

Psaki was asked the question by Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy during Tuesday’s White House briefing.

“Is the White House concerned that Major League Baseball is moving their All-Star Game to Colorado, where voting regulations are very similar to Georgia?” Doocy wondered. Continue reading.

Fox News reporter complains Biden doesn’t take his outlet’s questions — and Jen Psaki sets him straight

During Joe Biden’s two months as president, Fox News’ Peter Doocy has been a fixture at White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki’s news conferences — and she has been much more polite with him than former President Donald Trump’s press secretaries typically were with CNN reporters. But during a press briefing on Friday, Doocy claimed that Biden was marginalizing Fox News — and Psaki politely but firmly set him straight.

Doocy, the 33-year-old son of Fox News’ Steve Doocy, claimed, “Any time that the president has an event where he is given a list of reporters to call on, Fox is the only member of the five-network TV pool that has never been on the list in front of the president. And I’m just curious if that is an official administration policy.”

Psaki, who has taken questions from Doocy many times, responded, with a smile, “We’re here having a conversation, aren’t we? And do I take questions from you every time you come to the briefing room? Has the president taken questions from you since he came into office, yes or no?” Continue reading.

Jen Psaki Brilliantly Rips GOP For Their Hypocritical Concern The Relief Bill Will Have On The Deficit

President Joe Biden’s press secretary Jen Psaki shut down Republican’s concern for the deficit by hurling a question right back at the GOP for their hypocrisy.

A reporter addressed Psaki at a recent press briefing, saying the GOP argued this was the sixth package and already added to a “deficit that’s already a trillion dollars this year alone.”

The reporter asked:

“What do you say to that criticism, that ultimately this type of a sweeping piece of legislation will be a drag on the economy down the line?”

“Well, I would say to them we’re in the midst of twin crises, from the pandemic to an economic downturn that is impacting tens of millions of people in this country,” she began. Continue reading.

Psaki defends White House’s definition of reopening schools amid criticism

The Hill logo

White House press secretary Jen Psaki on Wednesday defended the Biden administration’s definition of having schools “open” during the coronavirus pandemic amid criticism that the goal is not ambitious enough and has already been met across parts of the country.

Psaki faced multiple questions during her daily briefing with reporters after she said Tuesday that Biden’s goal of having schools open within his first 100 days office meant more than 50 percent of schools were holding at least one day of in-person learning each week by the end of that time frame.

But some were quick to point out that many districts around the country were already doing at least one day of in-person learning under hybrid models, and questioned why the administration was setting the bar so low. Continue reading.

‘Present your data’: Jen Psaki smacks down Peter Doocy’s gotcha question on Keystone Pipeline jobs

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on Monday challenged Fox News correspondent to back up his question on Keystone Pipeline job losses with actual data.

During a White House press briefing, Doocy suggested that President Joe Biden had failed to keep his promise on creating green energy jobs.

“When is it that the Biden administration is going to let the thousands of fossil fuel industry workers — whether it’s pipeline workers or construction workers who are either out of work or will soon be out of work because of a Biden [executive order] — when it is and where it is that they can go for their green job?” Doocy asked. White House press secretary shuts down Fox News’ bogus attack on Biden

AlterNet logo

When Jen Psaki, the new White House press secretary under President Joe Biden, held a briefing on Monday, Fox News reporter Peter Doocy accused Biden of having a double standard when it comes to travel restrictions in response to the coronavirus pandemic. And Psaki quickly laid out the flaws in Doocy’s argument.

Doocy told Psaki that when former President Donald Trump imposed travel restrictions on people entering the U.S. from China in 2020, Biden “called it xenophobic and fear-mongering.” But now, Doocy added, “President Biden is putting travel restrictions on people coming in from other countries.”

Psaki told Doocy, “I don’t think that’s quite a fair articulation. The president has been clear that he felt the Muslim ban was xenophobic; he overturned the Muslim ban. He also, though, has supported…. travel restrictions in order to keep the American people safe, to ensure that we are keeping the pandemic under control. That’s been part of his policy.” Continue reading.
