What We Know about Trump’s SCOTUS Pick

Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Judge Kavanaugh, is a threat to Americans’ health care and women’s rights. If confirmed, he will be an extremist on the Supreme Court bench, where he will be able to carry out a far-right agenda long after Trump leaves office.

This is the most consequential Supreme Court nomination in a generation and will affect monumental decisions made for the next half century. It could roll back women’s rights, and the right to affordable and accessible health care, for decades to come.

Kavanaugh Is A Threat To Women’s Health

Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Judge Kavanaugh, is a threat to women’s health. If he is successfully appointed, he would vote to overturn Roe v. Wade. We know this because Trump admitted it is a litmus test for his Supreme Court nominees, and because  Kavanaugh has a long record of undermining women’s access to reproductive care.

Kavanaugh Is A Threat To Americans’ Health Care

Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Judge Kavanaugh, is a threat to Americans’ health care. We know Kavanaugh will gut the Affordable Care Act because Trump himself pledged his Supreme Court nominee would “do the right thing” and strike it down, and because Kavanaugh wrote that a future president could refuse to enforce it.

DNC Chair on Kavanaugh’s Nomination to the Supreme Court

“Judge Kavanaugh should not be allowed anywhere near our nation’s highest bench. Let’s be clear: a vote for Kavanaugh would be a vote to rip health care from American families and deny women their constitutional right to make their own health care decisions.

“We know exactly why Kavanaugh was chosen. President Trump himself said that overturning Roe v. Wade and gutting the Affordable Care Act would be litmus tests for his Supreme Court nominee, and Kavanaugh fits the script.
