Don’t forget to vote this Tuesday!
The November 6 election is just days away. Make sure you get out and vote to make sure YOUR government hears YOUR voice, regardless of political party. Hundreds of millions of people in this world have no say in what their government does. Do not take your rights for granted. Cherish the fact that your government guarantees you a right to vote, and exercise that right with pride.

Visiting around the district
I’ve returned to Eden Praire High School a few times this past month, and have enjoyed every minute that I’ve gotten to spend there.
A lot of the time was spent visiting social studies classes, to emphasize the importance of voting.
I attended Eden Prairie’s Citywide Open House earlier in the month. The event was incredibly well-organized and offered residents a great look at city hall.
Students at the Capitol
A former student of mine, Ali Wachutka, brought her class of students at Scenic Heights Elementary to tour the capitol last Thursday.
We all had an outstanding time visiting the Senate Chamber and the Governor’s Reception Room. Even did a short education on how a bill becomes a law!
Continuing the fight to prevent gun violence
In early October I attended the Westside Rally Against Gun Violence, and it did my heart good to see so many Minnesotans out there to make the world a better place.
Basic legislation on universal background checks needs to be voted on and passed next legislative session. Our lives depend on it.
With the recent mass shooting in Pittsburgh weighing heavily on my heart, it helps to remember events like this where we all come together to create effective change.
Making clean energy good for business
This past month also included a tour of The Weidt Group, a business in Minnetonka that works to build clean energy options that are also economically beneficial. It was an incredibly informative visit.
Reuniting with one of my first students
I recently ran into Colleen Weber, who was one of my students during my very first year of teaching. Catching up after all those years was really something special.
Fighting Opioid Addiction
At the end of September I attended the Unmask Opioid Addiction Gala, organized by the Steve Rumler Hope Network and their executive director Lexi Holtum. Incredibly moving event.
