Sen. Steve Cwodzinski (SD48) Update: March 29, 2018

Week of March 26th – 29th

Successful town hall sets the stage for an uplifting week.

Representative Laurie Pryor and I hosted a town hall forum on Saturday, and we both are extremely grateful to everyone who attended. With the meeting being scheduling as the same time as the March for Our Lives, we were thrilled by the sizable turnout. Whichever event you chose to attend, know that we both deeply appreciate your sense of civic duty and political efficacy.

We discussed all manner of issues at our town hall. Our thoughtful discussions ranged from gun violence prevention to our state’s workforce shortage. I always appreciate the the opportunity to hold these events, and I look forward to seeing you at the next one on Saturday, May 12 at the Eden Prairie Library. More details will be shared in the coming weeks.

The town hall was a great lead-up to an amazing week here at the capitol. We got our state employees their well-earned raises by ratifying their contracts, passed a pension bill out of the senate, held a press conference on gun violence prevention, and and celebrated Youth Day at the Capitol. You can hear more of my thoughts on the successful week we had by clicking HERE. As always, do not hesitate to reach out to me with your comments, questions, or concerns.

Meetings with Constituents

Tuesday was Private College Day on the Hill, and I had a great time talking about the State Grant Program with four of my constituents who are studying at Gustavus

I also met some constituents this week who were here for Lutheran Social Service’s day on the hill, and learned a lot about some of the inspiring work that they do.

Legislature on break next week.

The state legislature is officially on break next week to observe Easter and Passover, so we will not be back in session until April 9. We won’t be sending a newsletter or posting a weekly video, but my office will still be open through all of next week. Please continue to reach out to me as we get ready for the second half of the legislative session.

As you might already know, I become a grandfather this past winter. Elliot is now three months old, and I am already making sure that he is staying up to date with current events. I hope you enjoy your Spring holidays as much as I enjoyed reading to him.
