Rep. Patty Acomb (HD44B) Update: February 18, 2019

Dear Neighbors,

As another week begins here at the Capitol, here’s a quick update on what I’ve been up to.

At the Capitol
Jodi, one of my constituents, visited me at the Capitol to advocate for increasing regulations and improving the quality of life for those in assisted living facilities, especially those who need memory care services. I was happy to share that I’m a co-author of House File 649, a comprehensive reform of assisted living facilities.

I want to thank all of you who have taken the time to contact me. Connecting with constituents is my top priority and my favorite part of serving as your representative!

I had the opportunity to spend an evening at the Governor’s residence with my son last week. I appreciated the chance to spend time with legislators from both caucuses and both bodies in a non-political setting. Bipartisanship is more successful when we take the time to get to know our colleagues.
In the District Last Monday, I participated in a listening session at Hopkins West Junior High School with Department of Education Commissioner Mary Ricker. Educators, parents, and students shared local priorities and discussed what resources are needed to make all teachers and students successful.

Finally, I invite you to join Senator Paul Anderson, Representative Ginny Klevorn, and I on Saturday, March 9 for our second town hall of the year. We will share updates on the progress being made at the Capitol and listen to questions and feedback.

When: Saturday, March 9 from 10 to 11am
Where: City Council Chambers – Minnetonka Community Center, 14600 Minnetonka Boulevard, Minnetonka, MN 55345

Please continue to contact me with any concerns or issues of interest.

Sincerely,
Patty Acomb
State Representative
