Rep. Laurie Pryor (HD48A) Update: May 25, 2021

Neighbors,

Last week, the regular legislative session adjourned. A budget framework was announced and is in place, and negotiators are working on the final two-year agreement. I will continue to advance priorities for Minnetonka and Eden Prairie and I appreciate your emails and calls.

One year ago today, we learned of the death of George Floyd. Our communities – and the world – reeled from his senseless death. This year at the Capitol, House DFLers moved a sweeping agenda for police reform and accountability, building on bipartisan legislation approved last year.

No matter where we live and how we look, everyone wants to make it home unharmed at the end of the day. Our efforts will continue to ensure every Minnesotan can feel safe in their communities and be treated with respect and fairness.

Survey Results

Earlier this year, I asked for your feedback on key issues up for possible discussion this legislative session. Over 200 of you responded to the survey. Your input was very helpful as we waded through the priorities of the session. Please take a moment to review the survey results and thank you again for your effort to make the legislature more responsive!

Metro Transit Returns to Full Capacity

Friday, Metro Transit will drop restrictions on passenger limits on trains and busses, but riders will still be required to wear a mask, under a federal government mandate. You can read more here.

COVID-19 Vaccination Update

The Minnesota Department of Health reports more than 2.8 million of our friends and neighbors have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 2.5 million have received a complete vaccine series. Check out Minnesota’s COVID-19 mn.gov/vaccineconnector, call 833-431-2053 or ask your health care provider to help you find where you can receive your vaccine.

Following CDC guidance, Governor Walz announced the end of the statewide face covering requirement for vaccinated Minnesotans. It is recommended those unvaccinated continue to wear face coverings indoor, and many businesses are still requiring them for now.
