Dear Deb,
Tonight I will be joining my family, and Jewish people across the world, in observing Passover. Our celebration will look different this year as people adapt, adjust, and find new ways to come together.
But even as we are physically distancing, we are not alone. No matter what you’re celebrating this week – be it Passover, Easter, Ramadan, birthdays, anniversaries, or just the return of spring – let’s find new ways to make connections. I’m struck by so many amazing people doing their jobs under difficult conditions, worried for their health and the health of those they love – yet with smiles on their faces and compassion in their voices. We are going to get through this.

In the meantime, I wanted to provide you some updates:
- The federal and state tax filing and payment deadlines for individuals and businesses have been postponed by 90 days, to July 15th, 2020.
- If you’re feeling sick, use the new CDC self-checker on our website to help you make decisions about seeking appropriate medical care.
- Viruses don’t discriminate and neither should we. The Minnesota Department of Human Rights has a new hotline (1-833-454-0148) where you can report discrimination against yourself or others related to COVID-19.
- My office can help you obtain benefits and federal assistance. If you or someone you know needs help with a federal agency, please call us at (952) 656-5176.
From my family to yours, I wish you a happy and healthy Passover.
Keep the faith, keep in touch, and stay safe,
