Rep. Carlie Kotyza-Witthuhn (HD48B) Update: December 7, 2020

Dear Neighbors,

This holiday season certainly looks different than any of us had hoped but I send my best post-Thanksgiving wishes to you and yours. I am thankful for you and for the opportunity to serve our community! With the 2021 Legislative Session right around the corner on January 5, my fellow District 48 legislators and I will be holding our next virtual town hall on Thursday, December 17, at 7:00pm. As we’ve done in the past, you can submit your questions ahead of time here, and tune in live on my official Facebook Page to hear from Sen. Cwodzinski, Rep. Pryor, and myself. We look forward to connecting with you one last time in 2020!

This upcoming legislative session will be important for Minnesota’s response to COVID-19 and its subsequent economic recovery. With in-person office meetings currently not a safe option, these events are more important than ever for us to touch base and connect on what’s important to our community. I hope you will join us!

Economic Relief for Minnesotans

Ahead of the regular legislative session in January, we have one last special session taking place this month. The latest round of COVID safety precautions in response to the surge of COVID-19 cases has resulted in additional hardships for local businesses, many of which have been struggling since the onset of the virus in our state. With inaction at the federal level, it’s up to us in Minnesota to make sure our local businesses, workers, and families are properly supported as we “dial back” to protect our neighbors. Negotiations continue for what a new package of economic relief legislation will look like, but one thing that is clear is this isn’t an issue that can be put off much longer. Stay tuned for updates on when we’ll be back in the coming days to pass this legislation.
