With scores of American cities experiencing vocal protests against police brutality, protests that have often devolved into violence and vandalism, Trump found himself forced to offer public comment after reports about the administration’s paralysis on how to respond. He stepped out of the White House a bit after 6:40 p.m., 20 minutes before a curfew went into effect in Washington.
