“Even though I am a Sanders delegate and don’t often agree with him, it was powerful to hear from Kasich. He spoke very effectively, highlighting the need to unify across party lines for the sake of our nation. There are so many things more important than partisan politics, our nation maybe needs to be reminded of that.”

– Ben Baglio from Apple Valley, Minnesota

“Tonight’s program was inspirational, enlightening and hopeful that America is ready to move forward and elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as the next President and Vice President of the United States!”

– Husniyah Dent Bradley from Richfield, Minnesota

Below, Minnesota delegates weigh in on what stuck out to the most from the first night of the Democratic National Convention:

“Kristin Urquiza’s testimonial to her father and her statement that her dad’s only pre-existing condition that caused his COVID-19 death was that he ‘trusted Donald Trump’”

– Rod Halvorson from Saint Paul, Minnesota

“I was moved to tears when George Floyd’s family spoke. It was something to see the care that went into their appearance.”

“Michelle Obama was the highlight of my evening and per usual she was a total rockstar! I really connected with what she said about ‘voting for Joe like our lives depend on it’. As a college student, her speech reinvigorated me to work even harder to organize on campus and get Joe Biden elected this November!”

– Elizabeth Rose Hansel from Roseville, Minnesota

“When Amy Klobuchar says ‘WHO DOES THAT??!!??’ to something Trump says.  That’s my favorite line of hers!”
