Karin Housley visited Detroit Lakes this week where the local paper reported on her comments on the Honduran and Guatemalan migrants hoping to make a better life for themselves and their families in our country and escape the poverty and violence in their home countries:
On immigration, she said “there’s a mob coming from Honduras. It seems to be mostly men, storming our borders … My grandfather came here legally through Ellis Island. We need to keep people safe. Tina Smith stands for open borders.”
The reason her grandfather arrived legally was there were no barriers put in his way by this country.
