In the states Democrats need to win to have a chance of taking back control of the Senate in November, it all comes down to policies vs. personalities. Although the national political environment favors Democrats, they face a daunting Senate map, with 10 seats to defend in states President Trump won. In some of these states, Trump has retained his popularity and the national Democratic brand is in bad shape. So, the Republican strategy is simple: Cozy up to Trump and tie Democratic hopefuls to the most polarizing personalities on the left: Hillary Clinton, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi and Bernie Sanders.
