Despite stereotypes about obsessions with avocado toast and selfies, millennials (aged 18-34) represent one of the largest and most diverse voting blocs in America. So we’re excited to share a special report on our Navigator polling with important insights on their political preferences.

Our data shows young people are even more weary of President Trump and Republicans in Congress than the country overall, and they are a driving force behind the “year of the woman” in politics. Here are some toplines:

  • Millennials strongly disapprove of Trump. The president is not popular nationally, but his popularity is even worse among young people.
  • They’re more inclined than the general public to support female candidates.
  • A strong majority of millennials believe Robert Mueller’s investigation should continue.
  • Though they consider themselves less likely to vote in this year’s midterms, they have been following politics closely since Trump’s election, and have been highly engaged by events such as the hurricanes last year and national debates over gun violence and health care. Navigator
