‘Your Shot to Summer’ Rewards Request Form Opens

‘Your Shot to Summer!’ campaign rewards you for getting your shot, protecting yourself, and kicking off summer the right way.



This week, Governor Walz announced the rewards request form for the ‘Your Shot to Summer’ vaccine incentive campaign is now open for submissions at mn.gov/covid19/summer. Minnesotans 12 years of age and older who have gotten their first COVID-19 vaccine dose since May 27, 2021 are eligible to fill out the request form and choose their preferred vaccine reward.

Rewards will be available for the first 100,000 requests made by eligible Minnesotans. Reward requests must be submitted to the Minnesota Department of Health by 11:59 p.m. on June 30, 2021, and will be fulfilled on a rolling basis.


Governor Walz Announces COVID-19 Community Vaccination Pop-Up at MSP Airport

Travelers can walk in or make an appointment for the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine.


This week, Governor Walz announced the State of Minnesota is partnering with the Metropolitan Airports Commission to launch a new temporary pop-up vaccination event at the Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport. Vaccinations will be administered in Terminal 1 seven days a week beginning Saturday, June 5.

“Today, we’re making it even easier for Minnesota travelers to get fully vaccinated,” said Governor Walz. “The Johnson & Johnson vaccine offered at the airport is just a single dose, so you can now protect yourself from COVID-19 in one stop while you catch your flight. We are working hard to offer these safe and effective vaccines to every Minnesotan who wants them, and we are proud to offer options as convenient as this one for travelers.”

Travelers 18 years of age and older catching a flight or arriving at MSP Airport are eligible to receive the Johnson & Johnson vaccine in Terminal 1. Travelers are encouraged to walk in or make an appointment via the Minnesota COVID-19 Vaccine Connector or by calling 833-431-2053.


Governor Walz Visits Minnesota Zoo and Mayo Field in Rochester to Highlight ‘Your Shot to Summer’ Vaccine Incentive Campaign 



On Thursday, Governor Walz visited the Minnesota Zoo to highlight the state’s ‘Your Shot to Summer’ COVID-19 vaccine incentive campaign encouraging Minnesotans to roll up their sleeves and get their vaccine during the next month. On Friday, Governor Walz also visited Mayo Field, home of the Rochester Honkers Northwoods League baseball team, to highlight the campaign. 

The campaign aims to help Minnesota reach the goal of vaccinating 70 percent of Minnesotans over the age of 16 by July 1 by providing rewards to Minnesotans who get their first dose of the vaccine in June. 100,000 Minnesotans who get their vaccine through the end of June can pick their reward:

  • Northwoods League Baseball tickets
  • A Great Lakes Aquarium pass
  • Nickelodeon Universe tickets 
  • Minnesota fishing license
  • Minnesota State Parks pass
  • Minnesota State Fair tickets 
  • ValleyFair admission
  • or a $25 Visa gift card

Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan Present DAISY Award to Black Nurses Rock


On Thursday, Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan participated in an award ceremony recognizing the contributions of Black Nurses Rock. 

“As our state faced challenge after challenge over the last year, Black Nurses Rock stepped up, with innovation and compassion, at every turn,”said Governor Walz. “Whether it was testing, PPE, or vaccines, they got it to those who needed it. An honor to present them with the DAISY Team Award for Advancing Health Equity.” 


Commission on Judicial Selection Opens Application Process for Vacancy in the Second Judicial District


This week, the Commission on Judicial Selection announced a new vacancy in Minnesota’s Second Judicial District. The vacancy will occur upon the retirement of the Honorable Lezlie Ott Marek. This seat will be chambered in St. Paul in Ramsey County. The application process is now open for this vacancy.

Individuals wishing to apply may request an application by contacting the Office of the Governor and Lt. Governor via e-mail at Judicial.Selection@state.mn.us. Application materials are due by 4:00 p.m. on June 22, 2021 and should be addressed to the Chair of the Commission, Ms. Erin Sindberg Porter. The Commission expects to hold interviews on July 12, 2021.
