Want to Participate in How Your DFL Party Runs? Here’s Your Chance.

Did you ever consider running for the DFL State Central Committee at your Senate District Convention, but didn’t? Did you run, but someone else got the spot?  What about the State Central Committee? That’s the small group of leaders who meet to help lay out the direction of the party and assist the State Party in making decisions.

Here’s another opportunity to join DFL volunteers from around the state to help decide how the party is run. (we’re meeting virtually now, in person later):

CD3 will nominate 2 State Executive Committee Member candidates (gender balanced) and 6 State Central Committee Members candidates (gender balanced) at our August 12th Virtual State Central Committee.  Our candidate slate will then be proposed to the State Central Committee to be voted on at their August 29 virtual meeting. With the election of a new CD3 Central Committee, we have agreed the new Central Committee should be the group voting to select those presented to the State Central Committee for election.

With the above in mind, we have a tight timeline that people interested need to know:

August 5 at 5:00 PM — Application deadline, just use the link below.
August 6, 7:00 to 8:00 PM — Virtual Meet and Greet with the CD3 Central Committee. Drop in, put your name in the chat box, introduce yourself and chat. (Details on how to join the meeting will be provided to applicants.)

“The Crisis is Worse Because of Donald Trump and Mike Pence’s Failed Leadership”

Minnesota Leaders Respond to Vice-President Pence’s Visit to Minnesota

SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA – Ahead of Pence’s visit to the Mayo Clinic, Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party Chairman Ken Martin joined Congressman Dean Phillips and State Representative Tina Liebling to highlight the Trump/Pence administration’s broken promises on coronavirus and contrasted the lack of a federal response with the leadership of Governor Walz to expanding testing.

Quote from DFL Chair Ken Martin: “Donald Trump’s chaotic leadership and his decision to force states to go it alone has ultimately made it more difficult for states like Minnesota to get the supplies they need. Donald Trump and Mike Pence’s message to states is clear: you’re on your own. America needs real leadership right now and it’s beyond clear that Donald Trump and Mike Pence are not capable of delivering that and effectively guiding our nation through this crisis. Now unfortunately we’re seeing the consequences. The crisis was made worse because of Donald Trump and Mike Pence’s failed leadership.” Continue reading ““The Crisis is Worse Because of Donald Trump and Mike Pence’s Failed Leadership””

DNC Announces New National Record Linkage System

Algorithm developed by DNC expert in the field of record linkage will increase organizing efficiency by 9 percent and provide campaigns with more comprehensive view of the overall electorate

Today the Democratic National Committee is launching a new, proprietary national record linkage system that will be integrated into the DNC’s voter file — deduplicating millions of voter records, providing campaigns with a more comprehensive view of the electorate and increasing the effectiveness of Democratic organizers across the country.

“This record linkage system is an example of how the DNC is developing and implementing cutting-edge data science solutions to increase the effectiveness of Democratic organizers, improve our view of every possible voter and make sure Trump is a one-term president,” said Democratic National Committee Chief Technology Officer Nellwynn Thomas. “The DNC made early, historic investments in our data and technology infrastructure and is working with top data scientists to develop these kinds of innovative products that will help Democrats at every level of the ballot secure victory in November.”

“At the DNC, we’re taking the most advanced data science ideas and applying them to help Democrats win,” said DNC Data Science Director Jody Heck Wortman, who developed this record linkage model. “Having a high-quality record linkage system in place will help Democrats talk to more voters, more efficiently — and we are proud to support the work of our organizers with the best data possible.” Continue reading “DNC Announces New National Record Linkage System”
