DFL to Launch Day of Action During Trump Visit

SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA – In response to Donald Trump’s visit to Minneapolis on October 10th, the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) Party is announcing a DFL Day of Action during Trump’s visit to Minnesota, focused on winning local elections in 2019 and preparing the party to win again in 2020.

Ken Martin, Chairman of the Minnesota DFL, released the following statement:

“Local elections are taking place across Minnesota in less than a month. President Trump’s visit to Minneapolis will not distract the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party from our main objective: winning elections up and down the ballot in 2019 and 2020.

“The DFL is launching a Day of Action while Donald Trump is in town to help propel our party to victory in our upcoming elections. Activists all over Minnesota will be making phone calls, knocking on doors, and working to build support in their communities for DFL candidates and causes. We’re going to take this energy and turn it into positive action by having conversations with Minnesota voters.

“Donald Trump has spent his presidency attacking our health care, hurting our farmers with his reckless trade war, and working to divide our country for his own political gain. Our party is taking the frustration that so many Minnesotans feel towards Trump’s failed presidency and turning into political action.”

On October 10th, DFLers will be contacting voters in:

    • Bloomington
    • Vadnais Heights
    • Duluth
    • Victoria
    • Cloquet
    • Golden Valley
    • St. Joseph

Since the Minnesota DFL’s 2019 organizing program launched in May, DFLers have already contacted thousands of voters at their doors and on their phones. This DFL Day of Action will be an extension of that organizing program. Through these grassroots organizing efforts, the DFL is identifying our supporters, learning what issues motivate swing voters, and building a team of trained and experienced activists to take on Trump and keep Minnesota blue in 2020.
