DFL Statement on the Retirement of Senator Paul Anderson

SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA – DFL Chairman Ken Martin released the following statement in response to the announced retirement of Senator Paul Anderson:

“The Minnesota DFL entered 2020 well-positioned to take back the State Senate thanks to the party’s strong fundraising and the widespread grassroots enthusiasm of DFLers across Minnesota. The retirement of Senator Anderson, one of our top targets, dramatically increases the odds of the DFL regaining our majority in the State Senate come November.

“Our party is now more determined than ever to flip Senate District 44. I look forward to the day when DFLers can pass gun safety legislation, expand access to health care, and create a strong emergency insulin program without the obstruction of Senate Republicans.”
