Mika Brzezinski: “A Decisive Factor In The Democrat Support Appears To Be Women Who Prefer Democratic Candidates By 14 Points, 54 To 40% While Men Favor Republicans By Five Points.” BRZEZINSKI: “So in that ‘The Washington post’ survey we were discussing last hour, a decisive factor in the Democrat support appears to be women who prefer democratic candidates by 14 points, 54 to 40% while men favor Republicans by five points. A new CNN/SSRS poll shows 31% of women approve of the job that the president is doing. 62% disapprove. On the flip side 51% of men approve while 43% disapprove. That’s a gender gap of 39 points.” [Morning Joe, MSNBC, 10/9/18; VIDEO]

Democrats Continue Working to Flip State Legislatures
With less than 30 days left until Election Day, there is no question this is the most important election of our lifetime. From the Supreme Court to voting rights to education to health care to redistricting —our democracy is on the ballot. With more than 6,000 legislative seats up for election, Democrats have the opportunity to flip seats across the country, even in districts that Trump won in 2016.
The DNC is investing more than $500,000 into state parties across the country, in an effort to specifically flip state houses and senates, break Republican supermajorities, and win for all Democrats across the country. The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (DLCC) working in partnership with the DNC has already flipped over 40 state legislative seats and is spending $35 million this cycle to reclaim Democratic state legislative majorities. In addition, in a non-presidential cycle, the DNC has invested more than $20 million in state parties and campaigns across the country to elect Democrats up and down the ticket.
The first line of resistance against Republicans’ extremist policies starts in the states. This fall, voters have the opportunity to elect Democrats across the country who will break through the gridlock and inaction and deliver real change for their states. Erik Paulsen Doubles Down on False Claims in MPR Debate
Paulsen repeats already-debunked lies and comes up with new ones, too
EXCELSIOR, MN – Throughout the course of today’s Third District Congressional debate between businessman Dean Phillips and Congressman Erik Paulsen, Paulsen doubled-down on claims that are verifiably false, repeatedly standing by the negativity and dishonest attacks that have defined his campaign – and even adding new false claims to the mix.
Phillips, by contrast, offered voters a new way forward, pointing to his more than 65,000 individual contributors, 1,500 volunteers and supporters from across the political spectrum, all working together to end the culture of corruption in Washington and restore decency and truth to our political discourse.
Here are just some of the falsehoods uttered by Erik Paulsen in the hour-long debate:
Q. What difference does it make whether or not Phillips provided healthcare to his employees?
PAULSEN: “It’s an area where Dean has been a hypocrite. It’s been fact-checked by WCCO and Kare 11. He said healthcare is a moral right but didn’t provide it. It was a lie. That was fact checked. We’re pointing that out.”
THE TRUTH: KARE11 and WCCO did fact-check Paulsen’s claims that Phillips doesn’t provide healthcare to his full-time employees. And both networks said those claims were FALSE.

When Trump Goes Low, We Go to Work
Vote DFL Nov. 6
To the editor:
Most of my neighbors and I agree that the Republican Party candidates in the upcoming election do not do near enough to challenge and stop the drumbeat of Donald Trump and his ideological base at all levels.
Since when do Americans tolerate daily lies and distortions of reality?
Since when do Americans tolerate hateful views of immigrants and people of color and the degradation of women? Continue reading “Vote DFL Nov. 6”
